BREWERY/WINERY TOUR SPRING 2017 STOP 3

The brewpub is located at 3525 Liberty Avenue in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The church building was originally built in 1902, and had been used as a church until 1993.[1] Its doors opened as The Church Brew Works on August 1, 1996, after the building underwent an extensive renovation, necessitated by years of lying dormant after being officially deconsecrated by the Diocese of Pittsburgh in 1993.
As of September 2007, three flagship brews are locally distributed: Celestial Gold (
light lager), Pipe Organ Pale Ale (English pale ale), and Pious Monk Dunkel (Munich-style dark lager). The in-house selection is rounded out by a rotating Stout, four seasonals or specialties, and one varying cask-conditioned ale. Also available are Millennium Trippel, a Belgian Tripel (in champagne bottles and 5L minikegs) and Cherry Quadzilla, a Belgian Quadrupel (champagne bottles only).

Thank you SCYPers for joining us for food, drink, and laughter. We heard from Travis Lesser on the Light Up State College Initiative happening this Saturday. Drop by Schlow Library or other local businesses to get your very own ice luminary tools.

We also attempted a goal of 230 Valentines for the patients of Hearthside (a local long-term care facility in State College) and enjoyed sending a little love their way!

Financial Planning 101

Financial Planning 101

We had a great turn out at last night's Financial Planning 101 personal development session! Thanks Amy for a great introduction to the ins and outs of financial planning!

If you weren't able to make it, Amy is offering complimentary consultations to anyone who is interested! She assured us last night that it is a myth that you need to have a certain amount of money saved in order to work with a financial advisor.

To take advantage of this offer, contact Amy Sanor at amy.sanor@ampf.com or 814-808-4750 ext. 2. Just mention that you heard about the offer through SCYP!

Thanks to all our members who attended Sips last night! The time commitment should be no longer than a couple of hours. We are meeting at the Room 206.

Many thanks to our plungers, spotters, and supporters - with your help, the State College Young Professionals group raised over $3,700 for the YMCA of Centre Country's Backpack and Open Doors programs!

We also won the award for most money raised as a group! Our costume wasn't a winner this year, but we still think it was pretty sweet.
