Check out the newest establishment in downtown State College with us on November 5th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm! The Press: Cider & Craft Beverage Tap House (113 Heister Street, State College, PA) opened in early October and promises to be a place where “curiosity meets community” – building a suitable atmosphere for us young professionals. Good conversations will be had, satisfying beverages (including a few NA options) will be consumed, and snacks from a nearby restaurant will be enjoyed.

Sips is a chance for you to network with new folks, catch up with old friends, and learn about the many upcoming SCYP events. Bring your friends or co-workers with you, it’s a great time for all. Our Sips socials typically have 35-40 attendees.
Non-Members:
Not a member? Just want to test drive SCYP for a night? Stop on by! Non-members may attend Sips for $8. Participate in a Sips and you’ll get a chance to meet with current members, board members, and see what SCYP can offer you. By the end of Sips if you would like to become a member, you may apply your $8 to the cost of your membership!

Can’t wait for winter? Already full of Holiday Spirit? Then join us for the kick-off Holiday Party Planning Committee meeting on October 29th, 7 pm at Boal City. In these meetings we will pick a theme for the party and plan the menu, activities, and all the other details for the holiday party on December 12th in the Ramada Inn’s Nittany Room. Please attend if you are interested, as this party will only shine with the input of many. No RSVP is needed, please just find Michael with the blue SCYP sign when you arrive.

PSU Golf is hosting trivia, so join us for a fun night! This is a PSU Golf event so we have reserved seats. Please note the earlier than normal start time for this event. Trivia will be hosted inside the Walker Clubhouse by the Nineteenth Hole Cafe. We will NOT have a check-in table, but we’ll let you know where we are in the event discussion. We encourage new and prospective members to come to this small group event.

All skills and abilities are welcome – this is an opportunity for a fun night of conversation, food, drinks, and trivia!

Join us on Tuesday, October 21 at 6pm at the State College Municipal Building, Room 220 for a workshop on mental health with a special focus on navigating issues related to anxiety and depression. Led by a licensed professional counselor, this interactive session will offer tools you can use in everyday life to manage stress, build resilience, and cultivate emotional well-being. Whether you’re personally struggling or simply want to better support others, this workshop will equip you with insights and skills for a healthier state of mind.

This event is open to members and non-members.

Join us at Zeno’s as they host a fun night of trivia!

Perspective and new members to SCYP are especially encouraged to attend.

This event will be capped at 12 attendees, so claim your seat so you don’t miss the fun! Look for the blue SCYP signs when you arrive. Trivia starts at 7 so we ask for attendance by 6:45pm.

Location: Goot Essa Cheese, 351 Wise Road, Howard Pennsylvania 16841

Explore a hidden world of cheese, frequented only by Goot Essa’s cheesemongers. On this cheese cave tour you’ll discover how Goot Essa’s different artisanal cheeses are stored (some for years) to attain that perfect blend of texture and flavor.

SCYP is partnering with Goot Essa Cheese for a SCYP exclusive Cheese Caves Tour and Sampling Experience. This event is open to SCYP members only. Each member can also bring one guest.

Tours include Goot Essa’s three cheese caves with a peek at their primary processing facility and an explanation of the art of artisanal cheesemaking. You can’t escape without sampling a few of their 19 artisanal cheeses. The tasting is an adventure in itself!

Cost:
-$15 per person for the main tour (including samples)
-$25 per person for the main tour (including samples) PLUS a follow up 5 cheese platter tasting and in depth discussion around a shared table
-Option to purchase Goot Essa’s cheeses after the tour to take home
Registration cost will be paid at Goot Essa on the day of the tour
